Have you always longed to create paintings confidently but didn’t know where to begin, or have a schedule flexible enough to enroll in classes at an art school? If so, these classes are designed specifically for you. It doesn’t matter if you are a complete beginner with no drawing skills or an accomplished painter who just wants to loosen up and learn a new approach. My step-by-step workshops and classes are designed to teach you how to paint quickly and confidently, using bold colors, thick, juicy paint and big brushes. You will be amazed at what you can create in just a few hours. This style of painting is about letting the paint flow freely, and enjoying the process!
Here is what you will learn:
- how to set up your palette/ colors / what brushes to use
- how to mix colors so they stay clean and bright
- how to hold your brush for a bolder application of paint
- how to set up a still life for painting
- how to light it for visual drama
- how to arrange an interesting composition
- how to see values clearly
- how to create a value sketch as a “roadmap” to a successful painting
- how to transfer the sketch to your canvas
- how to look for and see color in shadows
- best way to begin a painting
- how to simplify - knowing whats important detail and whats not
- how to paint with fewer strokes for a bolder look
- how to work with thicker paint
- how to paint small but necessary details with big brushes
- how to know when the painting is done
- and more
This painting style can be applied to all genres - landscapes, figures, abstract, portraits, cityscapes, etc.
Students are enouraged to paint from life to understand the process, but can also work from photos if they choose.
