| Come to the '76 House to sketch and hear the best jazz NYC has to offer. No cover charge. (That being said, PLEASE buy at least one drink to support this venue.) If you are a history buff - you'll be interested in knowing that the 76 House is the oldest tavern in New York State and was a hangout for George Washington and his officers when they weren't chasing or being chased by Red Coats. These days the vibe is far more relaxing... sit by the fireplace, cozy up to the bar, take in the sounds of world class music. Bring a sketchbook, pencils, pens, whatever you like to work in.
